This is all the cleaned parts. I had previously ordered a rebuild kit and Hey! All the parts fit! Hooray for me. The needle and seat were replaced, the main jet, the idle jet and all the gaskets and fuel filter were also replaced. The float was set to specs for drop (open) and lift (closed). The carb was then reassembled and the result is as shown above.Is any one reading this stuff or am I just wasting my time??

ReplyDeleteI'm reading, and learning! Not being a mechanic, watching the progress and the steps you've taken is quite an eye-opener. An awful lot of experience and tools are being brought to bear on this little beastie -- I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteWell, as my screen name, corvairtherapy, indicates I work on Corvairs daily so some of the knowledge of 6 cylinder air cooled rear engines is bound to be useful with this little car.
