I've been spending what ever little bits of spare time I've had fabricating a rack to hold the doors for painting. I finished them up today and mounted the doors on it. I think it will be a lot better and easier to paint them vertical than laying flat on the stands i had them on. The stand in the picture is straight, I'm crooked.

Dave,
ReplyDeleteNice! a project within a project...
By the way, curious how you are spraying. Do you have a booth or are you just hanging plastic? What equipment do you use to spray?
I'm still without a Bianchina. Honestly, I stopped looking. I look once in a blue moon. There was a Panoramica that was auctioned not too far from here. I was tempted to spectate but ended up not going thinking it was going to go high.
I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a trasmformabile for $300...
Anyway, cant wait to see it painted.

Rodney, if you haven't noticed, I'm back working on the car. My plan is to use my Corvair working bay to paint. I have nabbed a framework out of PVC pipe to fit in there. I will cover the floor with builders paper, erect the frame and hang plastic film on it. I will be using TP Tools' HVLP turbine sprayer and a supplied air hood. I am using PPG paints, hardeners, thinners etc.
